Tech Lead — Python (Full-stack)

We are looking for a Tech Lead — Python (Full-stack) to lead a cross-functional development team in designing, building and scaling SaaS products. You will own the technical direction of Python-based backend systems and their integration with modern frontend frameworks, drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product and DevOps to deliver production-ready software on schedule.

This is a player-coach role (approximately 50–60% coding / 40–50% leadership). You will contribute hands-on code while setting engineering standards, owning sprint planning, and growing the team. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of full-stack applications using Python (Django / FastAPI) on the backend and React / Vue.js on the frontend
• Architect scalable, maintainable systems — define service boundaries, database schemas, API contracts (REST / GraphQL), caching strategies and asynchronous processing patterns
• Own the technical roadmap for the team: evaluate technology choices, manage technical debt, and drive continuous improvement of engineering practices
• Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and champion testing culture (unit, integration, E2E)
• Mentor and coach team members through pair programming, design discussions and 1-on-1s; actively grow mid-level engineers toward senior roles
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and QC to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and sprint plans
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines; oversee deployment, monitoring, and incident response for production services
• Evaluate and integrate third-party services and APIs (payment gateways, messaging, cloud services) as required by business needs
• Participate in hiring: screen technical candidates, conduct interviews and contribute to team growth decisions
• Work directly with clients and product stakeholders in English — requirement sessions, demos, design walkthroughs and status reporting

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
• Strong command of at least one Python web framework: Django (DRF) or FastAPI
• Solid experience with frontend technologies: React.js or Vue.js, HTML/CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) — schema design, query optimisation, migrations
• Hands-on experience with RESTful API design, authentication / authorisation (JWT, OAuth2), and API versioning
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and containerisation (Docker)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms — AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS) or GCP / Azure equivalent
• Experience with caching (Redis / Memcached), message queues (Celery, RabbitMQ) and background task processing
• Understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, or domain-driven design (DDD)
• Exposure to data engineering tools: Apache Airflow, Spark, or ETL pipelines
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and Kubernetes / ECS orchestration
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical blog posts
• Experience building SaaS platforms with multi-tenancy, RBAC, and subscription billing integration (Stripe)
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration: deploying models as APIs, LLM-based features, or vector search
• Proven ability to lead a team of 4–8 engineers, delegate effectively, and unblock team members
